🖤 Rethinking My Book Cover — A Reflection

Here’s the things…
When I first released my debut novel, I poured my heart into every detail — including the cover.
It captured what I felt at that moment: the mystery, the vulnerability, the sense of a hidden world waiting to be discovered.
But lately, I’ve been reflecting on how much I’ve grown — both as an author and as an artist.
After looking at other books in the dark fantasy genre, I started to notice something I hadn’t before.
My current cover, while beautiful and meaningful to me, might give off a slightly younger or softer impression than I originally intended.
The story inside, however, is much darker — filled with psychological depth, tension, and emotion that perhaps the design doesn’t fully reflect. That made me wonder: should the cover evolve too? Should it mirror the eerie beauty, the inner struggles, and the fragile balance between light and darkness that define A Hidden Past & The Magical Universe?I’m genuinely curious to hear what you think.
Do you believe a cover should stay true to its origins, or evolve as the story and author do?
Would you like to see a darker, more mature redesign (seen in the picture).
Or do you prefer the current style that holds a touch of innocence and nostalgia?Your opinions mean a lot to me. After all, you’re the ones stepping into this world with me — and I’d love for its doorway (the cover) to speak to you the way the story does.Artz.
